Not so Suave - Product Review

Hi there,
     I never planned to do product reviews on my blog but I just have to share my experience with a new conditioner I tried. Suave Naturals juicy green apple conditioner infused with apple extract and vitamin E. I got it from Ebeano supermarket in Ikota Shopping complex. I had high hopes because I vaguely recognised the name from some hair care blogs. It promises to nourish the natural beauty of your hair with gentle conditioners and the crisp scent of orchard grown apples. Well RME!!!
I used it as a cowash and as I got into it my hair wasn't getting soft it was just getting ...I don't know how else to describe but stripped! My hair felt squeaky clean and not unlike straw. I was like WTH? I quickly checked the label again to be sure I hadn't made the same mistake I've made twice now- buying a VO5 shampoo that I thought was a conditioner! How can that be possible you say? Well I have asked myself several times and I'm yet to understand it.  Back to my "conditioner". It was a conditioner alright but it did not condition my hair at all. It felt more like a sulphate-free shampoo. If I hadn't vowed to stop wasting stuff I'd have tossed it but I have decided to use it as a shampoo instead.

Its not all bad though because it smells really nice. I read some reviews online and there were different reactions Some love it, others don't. I'll use it to the last drop and who knows maybe my hair will fall in love with this sulphate free shampoo in a conditioner bottle :-)

    Well, I'm actually a fair skinned girl but I use this conditioner. And the ocean breeze. Ok, with suave, different fragrances have different feels to them. The apple and ocean are lighter and smoother, whereas the lilac, rainforest and waterfall mist--although they smell great--are waxier and heavier. I still have them but turn to the others for cleaner hair. I think suave is nice because it's silicone free and rinses well. I don't feel like vo5 is as good, although it has some nice fragrances. For reference, I have semi-fine, wavy brown hair that I prefer to wash every day. I hate buildup.

    I love vo5 because it works for me. We are all different and as a result we will love different things all that matters is take good care of your hair, thanks for stopping by :-)
